| Police book husband for demanding dowry | | |

Rajouri, Dec 18: Reportedly on the directions from the local Court , Rajouri police have booked a husband for committing atrocities on his wife to bring more dowry as well as money.
In this connection a case FIR No 645 under section 498 A (husband or relative of husband of a woman subjecting her to cruelty) has been registered at Rajouri police station and police have started investigation.
Sources said that reportedly after the police casual approach towards her complaint, the victim namely 21 years Rozia Kosar wife of Tasveer Shah resident of Gharad approached the local court to seek help.
"Police has started investigation to authenticate the allegations leveled by the complainant" said a police officer.
Section 498A of Ranbir Panel Code cover any willful conduct which is of such a nature as is likely to drive the woman to commit suicide or to cause grave injury or danger to life, limb or health (whether mental or physical) of the woman.
The section is also applied for harassment of the woman where such harassment is with a view to coercing her or any person related to her to meet any unlawful demand for any property or valuable security or is on account of failure by her or any person related to her to meet such demand.
