Early Times Report jammu, Dec 18: Swacch Trikuta Parvat Abhiyaan-2, under 4th edition of Save The Trikuta Mountains organized by International Volunteer Foundation (IVF) and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, Katra was concluded here today. According to press release, a rally of 100 students and volunteers of SMVDU, Kakryal and IVF marched from Spiritual Growth Centre Katra to Bhavan and launched massive cleanliness and awareness drive on the track and interact with yatris, shopkeepers, locals to spread the message of Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan launched by the Government of India. The volunteers appealed them not to pollute the environment and be a responsible citizen by carrying placards with them displaying Say No To Polythene Bags, Do Not Littering-Use Dustbins, Help Us To Keep Trikuta Mountains Clean, Green & Plastic Free, Cleanliness is Next to Godliness and Grow More Trees. Hundreds of pamphlets were distributed among the yatris. Street plays were staged by the team of ESRM to convince the people to adopt cleanliness in their day to day life and to shoulder responsibilities to protect the environment which an integral part of human life. Kiran Kumar Sharma, founder of Save The Trikuta Mountains Campaign Series, social worker and Chairman IVF called upon the people of Katra to take active part in the Swachh Abhiyaan to make this holy town of Katra pollution free and keep Trikuta Mountains clean, green and plastic free. He appreciated the efforts of Shrine Board to maintain cleanliness on the track and for supporting this Swachh Abhiyaan for the second time this year. Earlier, the inauguration of the event was held on 16th of December, 2015 at Spiritual Growth Centre Katra. Ajeet Kumar Sahu CEO, SMVDSB, Katra was the Chief Guest who flagged off the rally of students and volunteers under the leadership of Kiran Kumar Sharma, Chairman, IVF. The participant institutions and agencies were SMVDU Kakryal, Government Higher Secondary School Katra, Taxi Operators Union Katra & Railway Station Jammu, The Hotel and Restaurant Association Katra.
