To support the cause of people, Shiv Sena Bal thackrey Samba also held a protest against Public Health Engineering (PHE) Department in front of PHE Division Samba yesterday. The aggrieved residents complained that they are facing acute water shortage from past several days and due to the shortage of drinking water, people of Samba and its adjoining areas are facing lot of problems. Despite reminders, the PHE authorities have failed to restore water supply. "We will be forced to stage protest and block the National Highway as the days are becoming hotter with each passing day if authorities failed to resolve the water crisis," locals warned. If recalled the Early Times also had published a news in this regard in its edition of April 19 to highlight the problems of people of Samba but department is in deep slumber and till date has failed to handle the crisis. PHE officials only are doling out fake promises to the people of Samba about restoring the water supply but the taps in every house still are dry. Locals particularly woman folk have urged PHE Minister Sham Lal Choudhary to intervene the matter and also have demanded to immediately transfer the staff PHE department which has utterly failed to shoulder their duties and to ensure the regular supply of water to the people in this heat. |
