VC Kissan Board visits Pargwal-Nikowal to assess loss wheat damaged in fire | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Apr 22: Vice Chairman (VC) Kissan Board Daljit Singh Chib today visited a far flung and remote village namely Pargwal-Nikowal on Indo-Pak Border in Chamb constituency to assess the loss caused due to accidental fire which broke out in fields of wheat crops during the night of April 21/22. He was accompanied by Dr KL Bhagat, MLA Chamb and other officers of Revenue and Power Department. During his visit, the locals apprised him that around 70 Kanals of standing wheat crop besides various water pumping sets have been totally damaged due to the fire with the result the poor farmers have been left high and dry. Chib expressed his sympathies with the effecting farmers and demanded that Government should immediately provide relief to affected farmers as they are very poor farmers who have restricted economic resources. He also directed the concerned revenue officials to assess the loss and send their report to the concerned authorities at the earliest. Chib also asked to ascertain the reason of fire so that preventive measures are taken in anticipation. Later he also took up the matter with Deputy Commissioner Jammu for providing permanent firefighting gadgets in the area so that in future any untoward incident is prevented. The affected farmer include Karnail Singh s/o Kaka Singh Chib of Chibbey Check Bela Jammu. Girdhari Lal s/o Gogal Chand of Nikowal , Tarseem Singh s/o Vakil Singh of BhawalMullo, Bihari Lal s/o Sain Dass of Channi Tanda and Sat Pal s/o Majetha Singh. |
