Poster 'not to celebrate I-Day' appeared in Rajouri | | | Early Times Report
Rajouri, Aug 13: After Poonch where some handmade poster pasted by miscreant saying 'Go back", a similar poster appeared at the door of a High School at Shahdra under Police Station Thanamandi threatening the people not to celebrate Independence Day and asked people to resent atrocities on the innocent Kashmiri people at the hands of security forces. Sources said that the poster was hand written and was said to be pasted by a mischievous persons impersonating as ISIS activist to create tension in the area. "Though this poster, the people have been threatened of dire consequences if they go to celebrate Independence Day celebrations and were asked not to forget the Kashmir struggle and Kashmiri people, sources said. A senior police official said that they are verifying the veracity of these posters as many of such posters turned out to be just an act of miscreants. DIG, Rajouri-Poonch Police Range, Johnny Wiiliam said, "The appearance of the poster at Shahdra is concerned it was an handiwork of a local miscreants to create tension." He added that a case has been registered in this case and the culprit will not be spared. He refused to apprehend any suspect in this case. "Elaborate security arrangements are in force in both the districts and the suspects are under the surveillance of security forces including police, DIG Mr Williams added. Here it needs to mention that majority community in Thanamandi has observed shut down for two days during this week to express their sympathy with the people of Kashmir for their ongoing struggle and also resented the use of force against the protesters. |
