Fratricide case: BSF H/C shot dead by colleague in Arnia | | | Jammu, Aug 13: A Head Constable of 92 Battalion of Border Security Force (BSF) was allegedly shot dead by his colleague after a feud over a minor issue at Nikobal post, falling under the jurisdiction of Arnia police station. "Deceased has been identified as Rakesh Kumar (45), a resident of Uttar Pradesh who allegedly was shot dead by Head Constable Hira Lal of Haryana at Nikobal post", said sources, further adding that the incident took place arguments break out between them over a minor issue. Sources said that the duo this evening entered into a heated exchange of words which took ugly turn when Hira Lal of Haryana opened fire on his colleague injuring him critically. "Acting promptly fellow jawans rushed profusely bleeding Rakesh to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMC&H) Jammu where he was declared as brought dead. Inspector General (IG) BSF, D K Uppadhaya has confirmed the incident and said that a departmental inquiry has been ordered in this matter. Pertinent to mention on July 24, a jawan of Border Security Force (BSF) allegedly stabbed his colleague, over an altercation and escaped with a Light Machine Gun (LMG) and over 10 magazines in Kanachak area of the injured. However the police and BSF teams investigating the case apprehended two of his accomplices alongwith snatched LMG, 10 magazines, 250 rounds from jalandhar of Punjab on July 26. |
