Meet of City Advisory Board of Childline held | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Oct 19: With a mission to mitigate the sufferings of Children in need of care and protection, CHILDLINE (Nodal), Department of Law, University of Jammu today organized a meeting of City Advisory Board of Childline under the Supervision of Anuradha Gupta ADC Jammu in the Moot Court hall of the Department. The meeting started with formal introduction of the members and thereafter the items on the agenda were taken-up for discussions. The representatives from all the government departments and NGO's working in the area of Child rights assured the Chairman and members of the Board that necessary action will be taken with regard to the items falling within the province of their respective departments. The representatives from Labour Department, Health, Education, Media, Railway departments and Superintendent Bal Ashram Ved Mandir participated in the meeting. The major issues taken up during the meeting included construction of Children Home/Observation home/Child Welfare committee/Juvenile Justice Board under J&K Juvenile Justice (Care & Protection Act, 2013), Installation of Complaint Box for the children in Govt. & Private Schools. District Police is also facilitating CHILDLINE logo at the website and at their barriers. It was also resolved during the meeting to chalk out the joint programme in collaboration with Labour Department for rescuing and providing relief and rehabilitation of children upto 14 years working different industrial establishments. The Chairman said that the Childline is a right forum focusing on the Children in distress and appalling circumstances and being a responsible citizen, we all have a duty besides moral obligation to minimize the sufferings of the neglected lot for whom this organization has been set up at National Level under the patronage of Ministry of Women and Child Development. |
