Miscreants continue to inflict damages, put on fire two Scorpios | Vandalize bank branch at Natipora-Srinagar | | Jehangir Rashid Early Times Report SRINAGAR, Oct 19: While one vehicle was put on fire by miscreants in Baramulla district yet another vehicle was gutted after a petrol bomb was hurled towards it at Sadrabal in the outskirts of summer capital today. At the same time a group of miscreants caused damages to a bank branch here. Reports said that a group of miscreants appeared on the main road on Srinagar-Baramulla highway near Delina and stopped a Scorpio vehicle that was on its way from Baramulla to Srinagar. The miscreants asked the people boarding the vehicle to come down and put the Scorpio on fire. The incident sent shock waves among the people of Baramulla and the transporters condemned the action. Reports said that the Scorpio bearing registration number JK-15 1031 suffered extensive damages and was towed to a safer place. Some of the people who were present at the place were surprised as the Scorpio was put on fire. Following the incident that took place in the morning the movement of private transport got reduced on Srinagar-Baramulla highway. Today's incident at Delina is the second one in which a private vehicle was put on fire by the miscreants. On October 17 (Monday) miscreants set on fire two Tata Sumos in the Parimpora area near Qamarwari in Srinagar district. These two Tata Sumos also suffered extensive damages with the owners suffering huge losses. A police spokesman said that in Baramulla, some miscreants set on fire a Scorpio vehicle bearing registration number JK15-1031 on National Highway at Delina to disrupt the normal flow of traffic. An FIR has been lodged in Police station Baramulla and manhunt has been launched to nab the miscreants involved in the incident. In the Sadrabal area yet another Scorpio got gutted in a fire incident in the early morning today. Reports said that a group of masked youth stopped the Scorpio at Sadrabal near Hazratbal and threw a petrol bomb inside the vehicle. The vehicle suffered huge damages with the fire engulfing the whole vehicle. Reports said that the glass panes on rear side of Scorpio had already been damaged after stones were pelted on it. The miscreants threw the petrol bomb from the rear side of the vehicle and it was gutted completely. It has been learnt that the owner had been threatened by the stone pelters not to drive the vehicle during the shutdown period. A police spokesman said that Scorpio vehicle bearing registration number JK01W-36 was damaged in mysterious fire at Sadrabal in Srinagar today. The vehicle was reportedly parked opposite Javaid Automobiles at Sadrabal when it caught fire. Police has registered a case and cause of fire is being ascertained. The spokesman said that some miscreants entered into Jammu & Kashmir Bank Branch at Badshah Nagar, Natipora and damaged CCTV screen, LED, glass panes and other valuable items in the bank. A case FIR number 182/2016 has been registered and miscreants involved in the incidents are being identified. The spokesman said that in its drive to curb the activities of the trouble mongers involved in various crimes of disrupting the public order in different parts of the valley, police has arrested 104 such individuals during past 24 hours. |
