| Protest against MLA Kathua, people demand basic amenities | | | Early Times Report
Kathua, Oct 19:- A large number of people hailing from panchayat Mah, from Kathua town staged huge protest demonstration against MLA Kathua Rajeev Jasrotia.
The protest was led by Angrez Chand who burnt effigy of the leader and alleged that MLA made tall promises to fulfill basis amenities in the Panchayat but nothing has been done since winning of Assembly election. While addressing to protesters, Chand said that 7 villages like Jagatpur, Mah, Pati, Tandla,Trikot, Mehatab garh etc all under Mah Panchayat badly suffered due to shortage of basic amenities like drinking water & Power supply, road connectivity from Golden Gate to the village ( 4 Km), Medical & sanitation facilities.
He said," People suffer and live miserable condition but it is appeared that MLA would forget that this area also falls under his assembly constituency."
Roop Lal, Anand lal, Kali Dass and many other protesters had similar view and cursed the negligent attitude of the MLA Kathua.
They alleged that MLA promised to provide three Electrical transformer, proper drinking water supply and black topping on road but nothing had been done after election and left people on their own in miserable condition. Shanti Kumari, a local said that government allocated funds for the development of the constituency but people were puzzle where the MLA used the funds as everyone in the constituency cried for development.
The protesters passed a resolution and said that they would block National Highway, DDC office and MLA's Public Grievance office if their demand was not redress within days. |
