People hold hunger strike to know whereabouts of missing VLW | | | Early Times Report
Kathua, Oct 19: People hailing from Mirpur tehsil Marheen, 12 km from Kathua town today held indefinite hunger strike in support of missing Village level Worker VLW, a RDD employee deployed in Dalli zone Ashok Kumar who have been missing since July 21. BL Khandley, a social leader led the strike and pointed out the functioning of District Administration and Police administration that allegedly failed at all ground to find out the whereabouts of Ashok Kumar. While addressing to protesters, BL Khandley expressed concern over missing of VLW and working of Police administration to find out the missing man. He said," Police administration has failed at all ground to find out the missing VLW sinceJuly 21 which is shameful for the department" and added that family had sunken in these days and administration acted as spectator. Khandley added that police department led to block national highway and expressed resentment at large due to its lethargic attitude. Khandley asked," If Police department constituted a Special Investigation Team SIT to investigate the case, Where is its report ?" He added that daily report of functioning of police department in the case must be publicized or informed to atleast family members. He alleged that it was apprarent that Nothing had been done in the case and Police department would waiting for a miracle. The agitators warned to block national highway if the missing was not found within couple of days. |
