JKSBOTE playing with our career, say students | Despite delay of 4 months, exams yet to be conducted | | Nitesh Sangral
Early Times Report
JAMMU: It seems officials of J&K State Board of Technical Education (JKSBOTE) are playing with the future of thousands of students by delaying their examinations. The examinations of 2nd and 4th semesters of the students who are enrolled in various technical colleges in the state were to be conducted in March and July respectively. But due to unknown reasons the exams continue to be delayed. The students say they are dejected due to the delay in holding exams. "Our chances for getting admissions for higher studies in the current academic year are bleak," some students told Early Times. They said the lethargic approach of the authorities concerned can be gauged from the fact that students had visited the offices of JKSBOTE many a time. "The officials there harassed and scolded us. Even our teachers were not spared by the authorities," they said. The students alleged the higher ups of the Board were giving false assurances for last fourth months about holding exams. "The examinations forms for 2nd and 4th semester regular and re-appear students are yet to be filled which means we are losing this session," they asserted. They also said that throughout state, thousands of students were suffering a lot for no fault, causing mental harassment to them. When contacted Secretary of JKSBOTE Er. Mahmood Ahmad Khan said the 6th semester exams have been conducted and 2nd and 4th semester exams would be conducted shortly. |
