Awareness drive on SSR intensified | | | Early Times Report
Ramban, Oct 21: As a part of Special Summary Revision (SSR), Motor Vehicle Department Ramban today organised an awareness drive under Systematic Voters Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) at Bus stand Ramban. According to press release, large number of people especially drivers and conductors participated in the awareness programme. Resource persons expressed their views on the importance of special summary revision and role of registered voters in strengthening the pillars of Indian democracy. MVD also pasted the informative stickers regarding SSR on vehicles and distributed pamphlets for generating awareness among the people. Speaking on the occasion ARTO Ramban Shami Kumar impressed upon the people to convey the message in the society as part of this programme. "Such awareness programme are being organised with an aim to sensitize the people mainly the eligible voters about the importance of their right to vote", he added. People were informed that all individuals who are 18 years of age or above as on first January 2017 are requested to get their names for enrolled in the electoral roll. |
