2/14/2018 10:22:24 PM
Early Times Report
Rajouri, Feb 14: Block Medical Officer (BMO) Kandi (Kotranka) has claimed that non- payments to field staffs for the last more than one year has badly affected the working in the block and has led to lagging behind in the implementation of national programmes and achievements.
This was disclosed by the BMO in a letter (vide his office letter No. BMO/K/Est-1/2017-18/307-09) written to Chief Medical Officer (CMO) which has appeared on Social Media Network WhatsApp.
Dr Ashraf, BMO alleged that the pending payments of the field staff engaged with Janani Surakksha Yojna (JSY), Janani Shishu Suraksha Karyakaram (JSSK), incentives of ASHA workers, sterilization beneficiaries, payments to Vaccinators (under IPPI programme and payments for allied expenditures are also pending for the last more than one year.
He added that the payments are pending as the post of Block Accounts Manager (BAM) at his office is lying vacant and has requested to Chief Medical officer either to provide BAM or make alternative arrangement.
"CMO is not authorised to appoint BAM. BMO is competent enough to manage the payments by engaging the services of a clerk or suitable person available at his office for the smooth functioning of the department" said a senior Health Officer.
