2/14/2018 10:22:57 PM

Early Times Report
JAMMU, Feb 14: Observing that the presence of the father is of utmost importance in the marriage of his daughter, High Court of Jammu and Kashmir at Jammu has recently granted two days' temporary bail to a man convicted for murder.
The Division Bench of Jammu and Kashmir High Court at Jammu comprising of Justice Badar Durez Ahmed (Chief Justice) and Justice Dhiraj Singh Thakur was hearing an application moved by Jasbir Singh who was convicted with 5 others in the much publicized murder case of contractor Yash Paul Singh who was brutally murdered in broad-day light by seven accused on April 7, 1995.
He approached the Division Bench seeking permission to attend his daughter's marriage scheduled to take place on 14th Feb onwards. He has also challenged his conviction before the HC.
Keeping in view the fact that the applicant's daughter's wedding is fixed for 14.02.2018 and the associated religious ceremony is fixed for 16.02.2018 in which his presence is necessary, DB permitted the detainee to attend the same on 14.02.2018 and 16.02.2018 in custody.
