Jammu, Feb 14: Mohalla Welfare Committee Bakshi Nagar, Jammu today paid floral tributes to Shaheed Bhagat Singh, shaheed Raj Guru and shaheed Sukh Dev at Bhagat Singh Chowk, Bakshi Nagar.
On this occasion, Karandeep Singh Lucky, Gen Secretary of the Committee & Chairman Child Care Society said that all of us know that February 14 is being celebrated as Valentine's Day, but in the morning of that day in Lahore, the Bhagat Singh Ji, Raj guru Ji Sukh Dev Ji were hanged to their deaths.
We only celebrate Valentine's Day and most of us have no knowledge about the hanging of freedom fighters.
Let us pass this message to everyone we know, to salute and pay respect to their sacrifice also. Let us be an Indian first and boycott the valentine day and motivate youth to come forward and do something for the nation.
He further said that on this day British Government announce hanging to death punishment to them. Mohalla Welfare committee cleaned the statue and honour shaheed bhagat singh statue with flowers. |
