| DGP highlights role of red cross | | |  JAMMU, Feb 18: Director General of Police Dr. S.P. Vaid has said that Red Cross is and has been among the first responders in providing necessary relief to the people in need or hit by calamities. He said that J&K Police will always be at beck and call of this stellar organization. Dr. Vaid was speaking at the closing ceremony of Red Cross Mela at Gulshan ground here this afternoon. The two day Mela began yesterday in which different stalls displaying items of daily use were established. Besides recreational items were also presented in the mela. DGP distributed prizes among the winners of lucky draw. He was the chief guest at the closing ceremony which was also attended by ADGP Armed Shri. A.K. Choudhary, Divisional Commissioner Jammu, IGP Jammu Dr. S.D. Singh Jamwal, DIG J-K-S Range and DIG Armed Jammu.
