Jammu, Feb 18: In an act of showing utter disregard to the basic concept of Right to Information Act of the government, administration of Jammu University is hell bent to twist the spirits of the Act with the tacit intention to hide an important information which constitutes larger public interest. This was stated by Deepak Kumar, President Jammu Youth Forum (JYF) while addressing a press conference today in which he disclosed that one RTI activist had sought information regarding irregularities committed by the University authority at the instance of its Vice Chancellor, Prof Ramji Dass Sharma who engineered ill conceived methods to provide undue benefits to Neeraj Sharma after his appointment till he was made Special Secretary to VC during which he did his doctorate degree without adopting standard operating procedures under rules. Deepak Kumar said that as per the document of reply given by university to the information seeker vide letter dated 15-1-18 , the University administration flatly declined to share in formations, inter-alia, about Neeraj Sharma, who manipulated to pursue and get Ph.D degree while on official duty without seeking six months leave for attending the course work required under rules. |
