KERALA, Feb 18: Deputy Chief Minister, Dr Nirmal Singh today said the initiatives undertaken by the Prime Minister in the agriculture sector are historic which would ensure surge in the Agri produce resulting increase in the income of the farming community as well thereby uplifting their economic profile besides making the country self-sufficient in food production.
The Deputy Chief Minister was speaking at National Banana festival 2018 organized at Vellayani Devi Temple Ground in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala.
Vice Chairman J&K State Advisory Board for Development of Kisans, Daljeet Singh Chib, local legislators, prominent scientists attended the festival.
Deputy Chief Minister said that the farming community should take advantage of the modern technology in order to make the farming and related practices simpler and thereby increasing their productivity. He said that the historic initiatives undertaken by the Prime Minister will ensure that the agriculturists and horticulturists would be provided with the necessary support which would result in increasing their productivity and also give the necessary fillip to the agriculture related activities.
He said the government has also undertaken the initiatives to introduce newer technologies in the Agriculture sector, which would ensure that the agricultural produce gets increased and thereby resulting in uplift of the economic activities of the farming community.
