Jammu, Feb 19: A general meeting to the Ex Legislators Welfare Council (ELWC) was held today at MLA Hostel Jammu and discussed the prevailing political scenario of the State.
According to a press communiqué issued here a meeting of former legislators of Jammu and Kashmir was held under the chairmanship of Haji Jalal Din, who is also the chairman of the ELWC, where various issues pertaining to former legislators besides prevailing political scenario of the State was discussed threadbare.
During the meeting a resolution was adopted unanimously by the former legislators with regard to unity, integrity, peace, progress and prosperity of the three regions of the Jammu and Kashmir. The ELWC appealed the people of the State to remain vigilant from the divisive forces who are hell bent to disturb the communal fabric by dividing people on regional and religious lines. The ELWC said that the people of Jammu and Kashmir has centuries old tradition of upholding communal harmony which is very imperative for the prosperity of all the regions. The former legislators urged upon the public to not fell prey to the rumours and misinterpret things. The council prayed for the sustainable peace in Jammu and Kashmir.
