335 Kargil bound passengers airlifted from Jammu

Jammu, Feb 19: Two sorties of AN32 services were operated from Jammu to Kargil in which 102 passengers were airlifted. While as from Udhampur to Leh one IL 76 Sortie was operated in which 233 passengers were airlifted.
The whole process was organised, managed and functioned by the Liaison officer and his team under the supervision of Asgar Ali NT. A passenger while talking to media said that they have managed well but there is a need to smooth operation of services also. The passengers also hailed the role of Liaison officer Jammu and his team for their good coordination and also the friendly approach towards the passengers.
However, the state coordinator for AN32 Currier service Amir has also played a vital role in coordinating between India Airforce and the Liaison officers for operating smooth service for Kargil bound passengers during winter.
The IAF had airlifted hundreds of stranded passengers from snow-bound Kargil in frontier region of Ladakh after the closure of 434-km Srinagar-Leh national highway -- the only road linking the cold desert with rest of the state.
The IAF is also helping the state administration in airlifting stranded passengers from snow-bound Kargil which usually remains cut-off from rest of the state during winter owing to heavy snowfall.
