Early Times Report
JAMMU, Mar 3: The Mission Directorate of Jammu Kashmir Skill Development Mission (JKSDM) has released an advertisement in a section of local press urging youth to showcase their talent at local, national, regional and international levels. The Directorate has announced an award of Rs 20000 for state level competition. Well, the award money is too small to lure the participants. The Directorate and the minister heading it know that today's youth carry costly electronic gadgets with them and 20000 rupees may find no takers. For the information of the Directorate and Moulvi Anasari, the concerned minister, a Srinagar Madrasa had offered Rs 75000 for winner of a Naa't competition. The person who stood second got Rs 50000 and the third prize was worth Rs 25000. Secondly, the Directorate should impart training in the fields mentioned in the advertisement to create new avenues of employment. It has been admitted at all levels that the youth of Jammu Kashmir have talent and potential. However, they lack proper training and exposure. Unless they are imparted training to sharpen their skills, they cannot win laurels in competitions. The concerned better take note and do something tangible. |
