| Workshop under NRDWP held at Khour | | |  Early Times Report
Jammu, Mar 3: A constituency level workshop under National Rural Drinking water programme was held at Shiv Om Palace Khour to sensitize general public and various stakeholders on issues related to Water, Sanitation and Hygiene. The workshop was organized by National Development Foundation with sponsorship from CCDU, Deptt. of PHE, I& FC. Dr. Krishan Lal Bhagat MLA Chhamb was chief guest on the occasion and the main resource person includes BMO Khour Dr. Ravinder Singh Manhas, BDO Khour Dr. Syed Namaz Tabassum Shah, SDM Khour Mr. Davinder Bhagat and Executive Engineer PHE Akhnoor Er. Sunil Ganjoo. Around 400 people participated in the workshop and learnt various techniques of water safety, security and conservation. Water testing through FTK and hand washing techniques apart from a cultural programme on WASH was also presented on the occasion. Sunita Devi and Samiksha Gupta conducted the stage. Rajiv Khajuria Founder Emeritus National Development Foundation who was key resource person on the occasion highlighted in detail the objective of National Rural Drinking Water programme and possible integration between various stakeholders particularly the Govt. Departments and civil society to make water safe and fit for drinking. He called upon the people to contribute in making Khour and other areas under Chhamb constituency open defecation free as open defecation is the main reason of water contamination. |
