Jammu, Mar 3: State Gymnast Palak Kour received appreciation Certificate of All Round best player from President Ram Nath Kovind during a function at MCM College Chandigarh. Besides winning the title of All Round best Gymnast including 4 Gold & 1 bronze medal during recently held Senior National Gymnastics at Mohali. She has also represented the country in the Commonwealth Games 2014 at Scotland, World Cup at Uzbekistan, World championship, Asian Championship. At the age of 12, she became top rhythmic gymnast of the country and became the Youngest sports person to be selected as Core Probable for the Prestigious Commonwealth Games - 2010 at New Delhi. She participated in the 6th Asian RG Championships at Tashkent - Uzbekistan in2013, 32nd World Rhy. Gymnastics Championships at Kiev -Ukrain in August, 2013, World Cup at Tashkent, Uzbekistan in May 2014 , she also participated in the prestigious common wealth games 2014 at Glasgow- Scotland and became the First ever Players (along with Mitali) from J & K State to participate in the Commonwealth Games held so far. She was conferred with Sher i Kashmir Sports Award in 2009 and State Award in 2014. Palak has won 44 Medals (20 Gold , 15 Silver and 09 Bronze) in the various National championships. In the last edition of National Games in 2011 at Ranchi she got One Silver but in last edition of the National games in kerela, she improved her medal tally to 2 Gold & 1 Silver.Palak had won 2 Gold & 4 Silver medals in All India Inter university Gymnastics Championships held at Chandigarh from 1-5 Feb, 2017. |
