| Contractors demand release of payments, stage protest | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Mar 3: Contractors under the banner of Contractors Association Jammu Province on Saturday held a protest against the government demanding deferring of PAO system till all the pending payments are cleared. Contractors today locked the office of Chief Engineer PWD (R&B) Deptt. at Rail Head Complex Jammu to lodge the protest. Contractors warned the Government that if the contractor's payments are not released before and of the current financial year by deferring PAO system no contractor will work in this present synario as well as no participation in any tenders in Jammu. The contractors decided that no work will be taken in hand till our all claims are settled. "Not even single contractor will participate in the tendering process of the Irrigation and Ravi Tawi and Flood Control Departments," asserted Sham Singh Jamwal, President of the Association. |
