3/8/2018 11:32:17 PM
Early Times Report

Jammu, Mar 8: President of the National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) Subash Shastri today appealed to the State Chief Minister to release the pending installment of 2% DA due from January 1, 2018 in favor of the employees and pensioners in view of the decision of union cabinet. "Release of additional installment of DA by the Central Govt. is an increase of 2 per cent over the existing rate of 5 per cent of the basic pay/pension, to compensate for price rise," Shastri said this while addressing NMC workers meet here. He said that the new rate will be applicable from January,1 2018.He said the dearness allowance and dearness relief are provide to employees both in central/state governments and pensioners to neutralize the impact of inflation on their earnings. Shastri said that this becomes necessary as Central Government has already released this DA installment to its employees and pensioners hence, any delay in the release of this installment of DA to the employees of the state Govt. and pensioners would ultimately pile-up the arrears thus adding extra burden on State Government. "An early release of DA installments and issuance of notification/SRO of the implementation of the recommendations of 7th pay commission in favor of state Govt. employees and pensioners from April1,2018 are need of the hour and the employees as well as pensioners have high hopes from PDP and BJP led Coalition Government." he said. Several resolution were adopted in the meeting which included release of all pending wages of daily rated workers working in various departments of the state Govt. early amendment in SRO 520 and regularization of the services of left over daily rated workers fall under SRO 64 etc.
