Samba, Mar 8: Police claimed to have foiled a bovine smuggling bid and seized a vehicle and rescued five bovines.
During naka checking at NHW Tapyal signaled to stop a Mahindra Vehicle bearing regd. No JK14D-3067 coming from Kathua side.
On seeing Police Party, the driver tried to flee from the spot but after chase the driver abandoned the vehicle at NHW Jatwal and escaped from the spot. During checking of the vehicle, five bovines were found laden inside the vehicle which were being transported illegally without any permission. |
