JKNPP stage protest against lathircharge over its leader | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Mar 8: Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party (JKNPP) activists today staged protest demonstrations at various district headquarters against police action against the Party President, Balwant Singh Mankotia and others. JKNPP Sr. Vice President, P.K. Ganju & Anita Thakur, General Secretary condemned the uncalled for arrest and lathi charges on the peaceful procession taken out by Party workers and the civil society members to demand CBI probe into the death/molestation of a minor Gujjar girl in Rasana a month back. They said that BJP-PDP Govt. has totally failed to pin the actual culprits responsible for the conspiracy to kidnap the innocent girl, detain her in illegal confinement and then murder. This is most heinous and criminal incident which Police and the ruling Parties are trying to use as a lever to create a sort of communal divide in the society, which so far has maintained brotherhood, are in full sympathy with the aggrieved family of Asifa. JKNPP demanded immediate release of the arrested leaders of Panthers Party and others from the area, who are unnecessarily harassed and arrested without any rhyme or reason. |
