Kathua, Mar 8: Several civilians, social activists including Panthers Party activists were assaulted, arrested and beaten by Kathua Police while they were demanding CBI probe into the death of a minor girl, Ashifa in Rasana (Kathua District). Manoj Gupta, Kathua District President of Panthers Trade Union (PTU) informed Prof. Bhim Singh that several civilians demanding probe including several NPP workers were assaulted, beaten their clothes were torn by the Police led by Police in Chadwal while they were protesting peacefully. Several Sarpanches/Panches were arrested by the Police. Prof. Bhim Singh demanded immediate action against the Police assault on against the civilians this morning and supported the demand of the people of the area to hold CBI Inquiry into the murder of the 8 years old girl, Ashifa, in January this year. |
