MJR-47 criticizes Union Home Minister's statement
3/8/2018 11:33:25 PM
Early Times Report

Jammu, Mar 8: Reacting strongly against the statement of Union MOS Home, MJR-47 said that the Minister's statement in Rajya Sabha is a half truth.
"The compensation amount of Rs 5.5 lacs to DPs of POJK 1947, 1965 and 1971 had been sanctioned as One time full and final compensation against the recommended amount of Rs 25 Lakh per family by State Govt. duly approved by the State cabinet and Rs 30 Lakh relief per family as recommended by Parliamentary Standing Committee on Home Affairs", they said, adding, "moreover, no action has been taken or relief given on any of the 19 other recommendations made by the DRPSC on Home Affairs as well as by the State Govt. This ambiguity had been brought to the notice of Hon'ble Home Minster Raj Nath Singh Ji during his last visit to Jammu on 11th Nov. 2017.
The DPs of 1947 from POJK are fighting and struggling for justice demanding honorable settlement package from GOI as well as State Government and said, they are bonafide citizen of India who have sacrificed more than 45,000 lives in the genocide by PAK army in the name of Tribal raid of 1947 on J&K state. "We lost all our belongings, our loved ones and suffered educationally, politically, and economically and lost our language and customs. Out three generations had suffered by living under sub-human conditions in the camps without any aid from the govt. for the last 70 years struggling to survive and sustain life in refugee camps", they said.
MJR-47 appeals to the GOI to consider the demands of DPs of 1047 from POJK more on humanistic and justifiable grounds and even justice after lapse of 70 years will be welcome.
