| Awareness camp on National AYUSH Mission organized | | | | Doda, Mar 10: The Department of Indian System of Medicines Doda on Saturday organized a day long awareness camp under National AYUSH Mission at Village Pranoo in Doda District. The awareness camp was attended by large number of local people including farmers, students and female folk. In the awareness camp, a team of experts which include Dr Irfana Gundroo, Dr Mubashir Hussain Mintoo, Dr Anayat, Dr Ashwani Kumar, Dr Basharat, Dr Kuljeet and Dr Muzamil Wahidi delivered public awareness lectures on various health issues. The farmers of the area were made aware about the different activities of State Medicinal Plant Board of Jammu and Kashmir where they were given a detailed information about the cultivation of different medicinal plants and its economic benefits. The females of the village were told about the menstrual hygiene and importance of sanitation whereas the youths of the area take pledged to organize periodic sanitation drives in the areas. The public was also made aware about various components of National AYUSH Mission. Pertinent to mention here that the Department of Indian System of Medicine has been is working tirelessly to spread the awareness about prevention of diseases and promotion of health through herbal medicines. |
