Aizawl (Mizoram), Mar 10: Amit Sharma, Regional Director, Survey and Land Records (Ex-Officio Settlement Officer) Udhampur/Reasi brought laurels to J&K when was felicitated with an Award for bringing Innovations through persistent and consistent e-Governance initiatives during 2nd National Urban Development Summit held here yesterday for the first time in North-Eastern part of India. Apart from this, RD, S&LR Amit Sharma participated as a Key Speaker in a very important session on Digital Revolution and Innovation in Urban Transportations in which he shared his perspectives on the subject. He pointedly mentioned that ongoing Smart City projects across the nation must envisage the concepts of Sensor-based Automatic Toll Charging, Multi-Level Vertical Parking Slots, Intelligent Traffic Lighting Systems, Web-Enabled Traffic Monitoring and Control Systems, Car Pooling, Bike Sharing, Awareness Drives for Commuters, etc. Amit's eloquent thought sharings during this panel discussion were highly appreciated by the learned crowd of this Summit at Aizawl Club. Other speakers who spoke alongwith RD S&LR in this session included Arun Dev Gautam, Secretary Department of Home & Transport, Government of Chhatissgarh who moderatesd the session very well, Navin Rai, Joint Chief Town Planner, Urban Development & Housing Department, Government of Sikkim and Lalmuansanga Ralte, Dy CEO, Aizawl Smart City Ltd who shared the future plans. The said Conference was inaugurated by Mizoram Chief Minister Pu Lalthanhawla who welcomed this unique initiative of a National Summit on Urban Development orgsinsed here.
