Joint anti-encroachment drive by JMC, Traffic and Executive Police | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Mar 13: A comprehensive anti-encroachment drive was jointly conducted here today by the special teams of JMC, Traffic Police and Executive Police under the supervision of Assistant Commissioner (Rev.), Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) Commissioner (Rev.), JMC, Vinakshi Koul, SDPO Bakshi Nagar Varun Jandyal and DySP (TrafficSunny Gupta, DySP Dev Raj and DTI Sandeep Mahajan, Revenue Officers Parmod Kumar, Ashwani Sudan, Parveen Gupta, Sunil Gupta of JMC, SHOs of concerned police stations, Assistant Enforcement Officer Madan Lal and field staff of JMC were part of the team which conducted the drive. The drive was conducted in the areas of Rehari Chungi, Rehari Colony, Subhash Nagar upto Petrol Pump. The drive was conducted against the illegal encroachments caused by the shopkeepers, illegal hoardings, wrongly parked vehicles and street vendors causing traffic congestion and obstruction to free movement of pedestrians on footpaths. During the drive the team removed 2 truckloads of material displayed by the shopkeepers in front of their shops and lifted 6 illegal rehries plying without license. The JMC warned the shopkeepers and encroachers not to cross their shutter line and not to encroach the footpaths which lead to congestion and obstructions to the free movement of pedestrians. The traffic police also lifted the wrongly parked vehicles on the roads and challaned number of vehicles violating the traffic rules and causing traffic congestion on the roads and also issued instructions to violators to follow the guidelines of traffic and not to park their vehicles wrongly on the roadsides. |
