| Govt fails to provide cement for works under MGNREGA | | | MS Nazki

Poonch, Mar 13: State Government has failed to make availability of cement for concrete works taken under MGNREGA scheme in Sub division Mendhar while labourers threatened to go for strike if not provided cement.
Labourers alleged that they had got the work on their job cards but due to non availability of cement no pucca works are being taken up and it directly affects us .
They said when ever they approached the Block Development officers for allotting cement for works they denied that any cement has available with them. Only Mendhar Sub division fails to receive cement for MGNREGA works otherwise all the blocks of the district get, their required quota of cement for the works.
The labourers threatened to go for a strike if government fails to take an inquiry into the matter as why only Mendhar is not provided cement when this commodity is available in all blocks of the district for concrete works under MGNREGA.
They jointly in an appeal urged the minister for Rural Development Department and its director to take the notice of the matter and find out the facts as why cement is not being provided to Mendhar Sub division for construction works planned under MGNREGA. |
