KSS demands inclusion of Kashmiri Sikhs in PM's employment package | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Mar 13: Alleging that the Sikh community has been ignored completely by the present as well as the previous state governments in matters jobs, the Kashmir Sikh Sangat (KSS) today said that while the PM's employment package was provided to Kashmiri Pandits living in the valley but the Sikh youths who are living under similar hostile conditions have been ignored. Addressing a press conference here today, the members of KSS said that the aim of interacting with the media was to highlight the demands of Sikh community of J&K in general and those living in Kashmir Valley in particular. The KSS strongly pleaded that Sikh community living in Kashmir Valley be included in the PM's employment package as ignoring Sikh youth is violation of Article 124 of constitution of India. KSS voiced with concern that the Sikh community which is in micro-minority in the state be provided 3% reservation in government jobs. KSS activists further said that State Minority Commission be constituted at an earliest so that benefits meant for the minorities under constitution are availed by the community. |
