| Workshop on WASH held | | |

Vijaypur, Mar 13: A workshop on WASH under NRDWP was held today at Community Hall Vijaypur in which more than 250 stakeholders including Govt. Departments and civil society was sensitized on Water, Sanitation and Hygiene.
The programme was organized by National Development Foundation, J&K Jammu and was sponsored by Communication and Capacity Development Unit, Deptt. of PHE, I & FC. Executive Engineer PHE Division Samba Er. S.K. Abrol while addressing the gathering detailed traditional water harvesting and water cleaning techniques.
He also informed people that PHE Deptt. has established laboratories at different places in which children can bring their samples for testing the quality of water.
He also briefed that with the help of Field Testing kit, water testing can be done in rural and far flung areas also. He complemented the role of National Development Foundation and officers of his division for making the programme a great success.
A cultural event 'Jatar' by Mohan Lal and party was also presented on the occasion. IEC material was distributed among all the participants and trained the people on how to test water through FTK. A pledge on Save and safe water was also administered on the occasion.
Rajiv Khajuria Founder Emeritus NDF who was key resource person highlighted different aspects of Water, Sanitation and Hygiene besides the objectives and strategies in light of NRDWP, Swachh Bharat Mission, Sarva Shiksha Abhiyaan, ICDS and National Health Mission etc.
He pitched for better cohesion and coordination between the departments running all these flagship schemes and maintained that without facilitating each others, none of the scheme can achieve its hundred percent. |
