Deputation of All J&K Fair Price Employees Union meets Sham Lal Sharma
3/15/2018 10:25:12 PM
Early Times Report
Jammu, Mar 15: A deputation of All Jammu and Kashmir Fair Price Employees (Rural) under the leadership of Tanveer Pathan & Milkhi Ram Ex Sarpanch called on Sr Vice President J&K PCC and Former Minister Sham Lal Sharma at his residence and appraised the Former Minister regarding various issues.
During the meeting, the deputation raised issues and had elaborated discussion on each issue with the Former Minister.
The main issues & genuine demands highlighted by the deputation are that the concerned department is framing the appointment proposals in light of the Rehbarai Khuraq under the supervision/guidance of concerned Minister under his full consent. According to hike in market prices there should be at least skilled wages for the Fair price employees.
They also said that proposal should be in accordance with the previous cabinet decision where under relaxation to the age as well as fair price license granted in favour of rural areas belongs should not be changed. That the proposal should be self explanatory regarding the regularisation of the services to the effect in toto. There should be one time age relaxation like other departments.
They also apprised Former Minister that engagements of 7696 salesman and 7696 helpers to run these Govt. sale outlets against 3644 sales outlets in pursuance Of cabinet decision no. 127/11/2014 dated 16/7/2014 that has been now withdrawn arbitrarily unconstitutionally with malafide intentions so as to defeat the rights of fair price shop dealers that too during the pendency Of LPA which is subjudice before division bench of J&K high court.
They also demanded payment of monthly honorarium Rs 4500 per month including Rs 500 as rental shops to salesman and Rs 3000 per month to helpers. Also engagement of salesman at existing private fair price shop/sales centres preference shall be given to the present holders of existing fair price shop/dealers if they full fill prescribed criteria/eligibility. They further demanded restraining the Government from opening new fair price shops in J&K. Further not to bifurcate the ration cards to the present fair price shop dealers as it will affect their source of livelihood.
Sham Lal Sharma gave them a patient hearing and assured them of taking up the issue with the concerned authorities.
