BJP worker amasses wealth by helping Rohingyas

Early Times Report
Jammu, Mar 15: The office bearer of Mahila Morcha-women wing of Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) whose name has surfaced after her son assaulted media persons in apparent defense of Rohingyas at Bathindi, has reportedly amassed huge 'unaccountable' wealth by renting out land to illegal immigrants.
According to sources privy, women activist of BJP has rented out several kanals of land to illegal immigrants besides some shops.
"The family used to collect huge money from illegal immigrants as rent for the land where they have raised structures for residential and commercial activities", said sources adding that the family never disclosed this money which is being collected by them as rent.
Even party BJP cadres on Thursday questioned their ministers at their individual level and asked them to clear their stand on the issue, sources added.
The party is reluctant to take action against the illegal immigrants because they cannot afford to offend their Mahila Morcha office bearer, who had provided land for settlement of Rohingyas.
All the office bearers remained tight lipped over the issue making it clear that party is not interested in taking action against the illegal immigrants.
It is pertinent to mention here that the central government had earlier told the Supreme Court that the "illegal" influx of Rohingyas "using the porous border between India and Myanmar" and their continued stay here was "seriously harming the national security of the country".
Security agencies had inputs "indicating linkages of some of the unauthorised Rohingya immigrants with Pakistan-based terror organisations and similar organisations in other countries", central government had told the three-judge bench headed by Chief Justice of India Dipak Misra.
"If BJP is ruling in centre as well as state then who is debarring them to take appropriate action against them", questioned one of the senior officer pleading anonymity adding that the government is only doing lip service and no substantive action has been taken till date to deport them back and the reason is that BJP leadership is itself sponsoring their settlement.
Early Times in its Thursday's edition had reported that the youth who assaulted media persons at Rohingya concentrated Bhatindi belongs to the family of a BJP leader.
