| Court rejects bail in fake gun license scam | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Mar 16: Chief Judicial Magistrate Jammu Ashwani Sharma today rejected the bail applications of Taranjeet Singh and Satinder Singh who were arrested in case FIR No. 54/2018 P/S Gandhi Nagar U/S 419/420/467/468/471/120-B/RPC.
On 02-03-2018, FIR was lodged against the accused persons on the information that a gang of few persons in connivance with the officials of different districts have kept in their custody seized pertaining to different offices for obtaining wrongful gain and had indulgence themselves in preparing forged gun license and were cheating the Army as well as civilians.
After hearing Sr. Prosecuting Officer Rohit Gupta and Sr. Advocate Sunil Sethi, CJM Jammu rejected the bail application and observed that the accused have engaged themselves in preparing the forged documents and large quantity of forged gun licenses allegedly issued by the different District Magistrates have been recovered from their possession, as such there are chances of the accused jumping over the bail and tampering with the evidence of the prosecution. In these circumstances the accused persons are not entitled to bail at this stage. |
