The entire area is suffering due to such an act of the Municipal Corporation Jammu which the RDS.S termed as illegal, arbitrary and an assault on the right of the people of the viltages, The entire area has come under the shroud of stink, foul odour, garbage and has become a source of nuisance and health hazard for the area.
"There is threat of epidemic in case the said garbage dumping in the area is not stalled or regulated under law as per Master plan near the said garbage dumping site/sanitary fill there is degree College where the students study, Sanskrit University and also there is JOA colony being developed by the JDA", they said, adding that Solid Waste Management Rules got incorporated in 2016 repealing the earlier rules and the new 2016- Rules are not applicable but these too have not been considered or implemented by the Govt. as the authorities are not in place, the selection of the landfill is not as per the rules and the duties cast upon the Panchayet have never been considered or fulfilled rather unilaterally the decision has been imposed on the public and all concerned, transferring their village into a living hell in the neighbourhood.
