ISIS flags in Kashmir 'help' Delhi, what about Pak flags? | Hurriyatwala Sehrai speaks | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Mar 23: New Tehreek-e-Hurriyat chairman Mohd Ashraf Sehrai has spoken after replacing Syed Ali Shah Geelani and has said his movement is not part of the global movement. "Azadi camp in Kashmir does not have a global agenda and has nothing to do with the Daesh and its ideology," he on Thursday said while explaining away the ideology of his separatist outfit. "Daesh and Al-Qaida have nothing to do with our movement and we will never accept them," Sehrai reportedly said. He appealed to the Kashmiri youth "not to get swayed by the extremist ideology and understand Islam in its correct perspective". Sehrai said Tehrek-e-Hurriyat is indigenous movement and there are elements in Kashmir who are creating confusion among Kashmiri Muslims by raising flags of Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS). "Some elements are creating confusion among masses by raising ISIS flags at the funeral of militants. We have kept a close watch on them, and will soon chart out a plan to stop them after TeH elections," Sehrai was quote as saying. His statement came after some people hoisted the ISIS flags at the funeral of Soura youth Muhammad Eisa Fazili. "He was pained by the events at the funeral of Eisa Fazili. "These things are unacceptable. Mysterious forces are creating chaos among the masses. Youth have to maintain discipline in the freedom movement. Those raising ISIS flags are strengthening the roots of occupation in Kashmir. India directly benefits by this. These youth tell the world that we are extremists and deserve to be killed," he also reportedly said. The new chairman of the Sehrai had all the good words in his separatist dictionary for Zakir Musa, but he bemoaned that Musa deviated from the right path that favoured India. "Zakir Musa (chief of Ansar Gazwat-ul-Hind) had sacrificed everything for Kashmir cause. Zakir Musa is the light of my eyes. He left everything for the sacred cause. But I want to tell him that by moving towards extremism he was doing India a favour," he said. At the same time, Mohd Ashraf Sehrai acknowledged that the "ISIS thinking was finding resonance among a section of youth". However, he made a fool of himself by saying that the hoisting of the ISIS flag was the brainchild of the (Indian intelligence) agencies. "Some youth are influenced by ISIS ideology, but I appeal to them not to go to extremes and read Islamic books, the Quran, and the hadith, and see what rules and regulations Prophet Muhammad (SAW) has laid down for war. Then they must decide for themselves as to what is right and what is wrong," Sehrai said. "It could be the handiwork of agencies keen to defame the Kashmir movement and undermine its indigenous character," he was quoted as saying. He added that "Our agenda is simple" and that "We only want Kashmir to be free from Indian occupation and nothing else". Sehrai said many things but not uttered a word against Pakistan and those who hoist Pakistani flag in Kashmir and in front of such religious places as Jamia Masjid. By speaking about ISIS and its flag and by not uttering a word on Pakistan and its flag, Sehrai only exposed him and established that he is the other face of Syed Ali Shah Geelani and that his outfit, like Dukhtaran-e-Millat, whose chief on Friday hoisted Pakistani flag and celebrated Pakistan day, is committed to Pakistan. He, in addition, virtually created an impression that Zakir Musa worked for intelligence agencies by establishing Ansar Gazwat-ul-Hind. |
