Early Times Report Jammu, Mar 23: Jammu Police moved one more step ahead in its fight against drugs under the leadership of SSP Jammu Vivek Gupta by arresting three drug peddlers with 1800 grams of Heroin and Rs 2,35,000 cash. SP South Jammu Sandeep Chaudhary while addressing media persons at Bahu Fort police station informed that a case under FIR No 87/2018 under section 8/21/29 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Bahu Fort Jammu in which three accused namely Kulbir Singh alais Kheer of Ranibagh, Jammu, Paramjeet Singh alias Pamma of Karalian, Samba and Sandeep Singh of Chowadhi, Jammu have been arrested. "1800 grams heroin was recovered from their possession near Channi Pooli, Trikuta Nagar along with cash worth Rs. 2,35,000, a car and eight mobile phones were also seized", a police spokesman said adding that the entire operation was led by SDPO East Arun Jamwal, DySP District Special Branch (DSB) Sagar Singh, SHO Trikuta Nagar, Inspector Parvez Sajjad. The SP added that the concerned individual used to allegedly procure drugs from Poonch and supply the same in Jammu. Further investigation is being conducted to pinpoint his contact persons in Jammu through whom he used to get the drugs peddled to youth in Jammu. He termed this catch as an important mile stone. He was of the opinion that the accused arrested had been involved in drug dealing for quite some time. And proper technical analysis played a great role in apprehending him. He added that the challenge is huge as the volume is very high and 155 FIRs have been registered under various sections of NDPS Act in South Zone in past one year. |
