PHE Sub division worst hit of liabilities, water crisis increase in Mendhar, Mankote, Balakote 4/1/2018 10:45:52 PM MS Nazki Early Times Report Poonch, Apr 1: Water crisis in sub division Mendhar have increased further on the PHE department faces liabilities worth lakhs on account of fuel and carriage charge for the last 2 years sources said here today. Sources said that due to low water level of natural sources the sub division was already facing crisis now it will deepen more as water tanker owners were up in arms against the department whom the department has to pay a whopping amount of Rs. 24 lakh besides fuel charges worth Rs. 12 lakh. Sources said Rs. 80 lakh was earmarked for whole of the district out of which only Rs. 20 lakh were released which is a crueal role with the people of poonch district particularly people of Mendhar sub division, they added. PHE department wants to hire private water tankers supply the water to affected areas but due to non-availability of funds and unclearance of liabilities worsens the situation furthermore. While talking to early times AEE PHE sub division Mendhar Muneer Khan admitted that the department has been facing non availibility of funds hence the required funds need to be released for which we have been initimating the higher ups time time khan added.
