Sources informed Early Times, whether it is against the consent of Chancellor, or who had suggested it the VC to take the matter before, council, but the stage has been set to elevate APs as Professor in JU. "The Central University of Jammu had found one of the APs ineligible an year ago, when CUJ, invited application to fill the post of Professors", sources said and added that as per the criteria set by University Grants Commission (UGC) for appointment of professors, these blue eyed APs of Prof R D Sharma are not eligible. However, going a step ahead of UGC, University of Jammu had last year conducted interview to promote an AP as Professor, but the Rajbhawan did not approve the file. Sources said the panel for interviewing the candidate was constituted in 2016, even when she was not eligible in terms of tenure. Sources said that Dr. Anupama Vohra was not eligible for the post of Professor, as she did not carry full API scores for promotion as Professor, but JU VC not even called her for interview, and also recommended her case for promotion to the Governor (Chancellor) which is still under consideration for last one year. |
