HSC found locked in Rajouri, BMO, staff suspended | | | Early Times Report Rajouri, Apr 1: Dr Iqbal Malik, Block medical officer, Kotranka health block has suspended the four members of staff of sub health centre, Sankari for remaining on unauthorized absent from their legitimate duties. On the complaint of many local residents, Dr Iqbal rushed to the village and found the health centre locked at about 12.30 pm today. He has suspended all the staff of a health centre and attached them with his office sat Kotranka till pending inquiry. "As the people faces many difficulties in getting emergency treatment at this centre, as was informed by the locals, Pharmacist namely Maqsood Hussain has been directed to look after the affairs of the centre" said Dr Iqbal Malik, BMO. He added that under recent second round of 'pulse polio campaign' few remote helmets were not covered and people were asked to bring their children to health centre at Sankari village. "Some people reached the centre well in time but the staff didn't turn up till 11.30 am and they brought the matter into my notice. On visiting the health centre personally, I found it locked at 12.30 pm while about 30 women with their children were waiting outside to get their children immunized" said BMO. He added that on inquiring from the locals, they expressed their resentment against the higher authorities for not making the centre operational on Sundays and holidays despite the fact that the staff posted here gets extra payments to attend duties. |
