Early Times Report JAMMU, May 12: Principal Sessions Judge Kathua Sanjeev Gupta today acquitted Bishan Dass and his wife Usha Devi in murder case with the observations that the circumstances relied upon by the prosecution are not established by convincing evidence. The judge observed that the evidence provide does not form a complete chain pointing to the involvement of the accused. The police investigation said that one Makhan Lal used to work at Gujroo, Nagrota, in a sweet shop and was a frequent visitor to village Bathri, Tehsil Billawar, where he developed an intimate relation with accused Usha Devi. "However, after Usha returned back home, she was scolded by accused Bishan, who also threatened the deceased not to visit village Bathri again and also gave life threat to him. On 6-5-2014 and 7-5-2014, accused Bishan came to know about the presence of deceased at village Jotha, Bathri," reads the police investigation. The investigation revealed that on the evening of May 7, 2014, he reached Billawar and contacted his wife and thereafter, both the accused committed the murder of deceased with the help of stone at village Jotha, Bathri, and threw the body of deceased near a Forest Nursery adjoining to Naz nullah situated at village Bathri and left the spot. |
