JKPCC condemns Pak for unprovoked ceasefire | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, May 18: J&K Pradesh Congress Committee has strongly condemned Pakistan for the unprovoked ceasefire violation and resorting to heavy shelling leaving two civilians martyred and four other seriously injured. In a joint statement senior leaders of JKPCC Sham Lal Sharma, Raman Bhalla, Ravinder Sharma, Kanta Bhan, Rajnish Sharma, Yogesh Sawhney, Shabir Ahmad Khan, S. Manjit Singh, Th. Manmohjan Singh, Vikram Malhotra, Ch. Shah Mohd., Namrata Sharma and Ch. Shah Nawaz have accused Pakistan of resorting to worst kind of Shelling targeting civilian population in violation of all international norms, even during the holy month of Ramzan, showing no respect for the values and teachings to be observed during the fasting period, where as the central government has announced halting of operations within the state during the period. This shows the hollowness of Pakistan and her faith in maintaining peace and cordiality with India, for which the Government of India should take effective measures to deal with the hostile neighbor. The record of ceasefire violations leading to heavy toll of our army, BSF and civilian causalities on the borders of the state during the past few years is a matter of grave concern, which goes on increasing, and this reflects the failure of the Modi government to effectively deal with Pakistan. The rank and file of the Congress party have conveyed their heartfelt condolences to the families of those killed and prayed for peace to the departed souls and early recovery of the injured. |
