Jolt for PDP, party's Kathua district president resigns
Says, party high command working on 'Jihadi lines'

Early Times Report
Kathua, May 18: In yet another jolt to Peoples Democratic Party district vice-president of the party from Kathua Anil Singh Andotra on Friday resigned from the basic membership of the PDP and joined hands with ex-minister Choudhary Lal Singh during a rally at Nagri in Kathua.
While talking to Early Times, Anil Singh said after the death of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, the PDP has forgotten the Jammu region and only pays its attention towards Kashmir. Andotra said the people of Jammu region are being ignored by the party high command and Mehbooba Mufti works on "Jihadi lines" which has never been the ideology of the PDP in past when it was led by late Mufti Mohammad Sayeed.
It may be recalled that may PDP leaders from Jammu region have quit the party since the day late Mufti Mohammad Sayeed has passed away. The prominent among those who quit the party include Vikramaditya Singh.
Singh, who is the grandson of Maharaja Hari Singh had said: |It is not possible for me to continue with the PDP as it has disregarded the demands and aspirations of Jammu region".
The grandson of last Dogra ruler had sought "urgent intervention" of the Centre in addressing regional issues and had claimed that the people of Jammu, Ladakh and Kashmir regions were "not happy" with the present dispensation.
Singh had joined the PDP on August 2015 in presence of the party's late president Mufti Mohammad Sayeed. He was a member of the state Legislative Council.
"I have sent my resignation to party president Mehbooba Mufti with a request to accept it immediately. I feel it is neither morally nor ethically right for me to continue as the member of the PDP and as an MLC," he had said.
A PDP leader wishing anonymity said, "During late Mufti Sahib's tenure people of Jammu were with the party whole heartedly and endorsed the visions and policies of the late leader. Now the situation has changed as the PDP top leaders seem least bothered about Jammu and its people."
Meanwhile, Andotra pledged to work with Choudhary Lal Singh for getting justice for Rasana rape and murder victim.
"I joined hands with Choudhary Lal Singh because now a days he alone speaks for the people of Jammu province. He speaks for the dignity of the Dogras," said Andotra adding that the way Dogras were wrongly presented by the national media was opposed only by Lal Singh.
Anil Singh Andotra said there are certain doubts over the way Kathua case was handled by the Crime and if the people want CBI probe why the state government is reluctant to the people's demand.
He urged the people of Jammu province to take part in Dogra Swabhiman rally which is going to held on May 20 from Lakhanpur to Londhi Morh Hiranagar.
