| Inter School District Level Tournament Organised | | |  Early Times Report
Jammu, May 19: Inter School District Level Tournament for Girls in the sports discipline of Kho-Kho, Kabaddi and Volley Ball under the age group of 14 and 17 yrs for the year 2018-19 of District Jammu got under today here at Govt. HS, Jammu Cantt. And M.A. Stadium, Jammu.
Marh Zone Girls lifted Volleyball trophy under 14 years. In all 745 Girls were drawn across from 14 Zones of Jammu District took part in the competitions. The competitions were organised by Department of Youth Services and Sports under the patronage of Shiekh Fayaz Ahmad, Director General, Youth Services and Sports and under the overall supervision of Madan Lal, Joint Director Youth Services and Sports Jammu. While Chanchal Kour, DYSSO Jammu was the organising Secretary of the said tournament.
The main objective of the competitions was to select the teams of Jammu District for the next level of competitions i.e Inter District, Division Level Competitions.
Madan Lal Joint Director, Youth Services & Sports, Jammu was Chief Guest on the occasions of opening ceremony of the tournament for the Girls.
Speaking on the occasions he stressed upon the participants to play the games in the true spirit of sportsmanship.
He also applauded the efforts of all the girl participants who came from far off places in spite of hardships to take part in the district level tournaments. Later, he declared the tournament open and wished all the participants good luck for their matches. Matches were officiated by the panel of experts of the department of Youth Services of Sports. |
