Jammu, May 19 : Pacca Danga police booked an Inspector of Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP) under relevant sections of dowry death of his wife.
A woman namely Neha Basson, wife of Inspector Vivek Basson then posted in SSG (CM Security), resident of Exchange Road, Jammu, had died of a bullet injury on February 27 this year at her residence after which inquest proceedings under 174 CrPC were initiated in the case.
According to SDPO City, DySP Varun Jandial, as per the statement recorded by the parents and other family members of the Neha Basson and the FSL report, which had established that the woman had died of bullet injuries, the inquest proceedings have been converted into an FIR No 85/18 under sections 304 B and 498 of RPC. He said the accused officer will be arrested soon after fulfilling all legal formalities. |
