Jammu, May 19: Taking exception to the government decision, making moral education mandatory in government schools, Jammu Private Schools and ETT Association (progressive) has said that the step seemed to be an outcome of merely so-called sentiments without consulting academician class. In absence of much needed morality, honesty and accountability within Govt. and its functionaries, seems impossible to measure the sanctity of said nurturing process of morality from innocents, association expressed. Day to day ugly exposures of our ruling class has almost shacked the faith of masses in general, so will be difficult to restore the charm of traditional values based charm, it added. They further said, vital issues like extra heavy load of school bags, availability of clean drinking water andmuch needed uniform syllabus for primary level students, still await focus of the state govt. and should have been considered on priority while seeking suggestions from civil society and the academicians, Association urged. "Instead of needed debates based meaningful reforms in school education, state govt. seems preferring merely show business, association alleged. Either at national level or state level, nobody seems serious on credible schooling of innocents", it added. |
